TRANSPORT DIVISION
Our Heavy Haulage division focuses on the movement of all types of abnormal loads of any size and weight up to 250ton Category 3. We offer bespoke services including route surveys, movement orders, BE16 special orders, route test drives and swept path analysis.
All of our Heavy Haulage tractor units and trailers utilise the most modern technology and are sourced from the leading manufacturers. Our current fleet ranges from 65 tonne Scania tractor units to 250 tonne MAN tractor units.
Our trailer fleet includes the best in class products available from Faymonville, Nooteboom and Broshuis designed to maximise payload and minimise length and height.
We have an in-house team with full capability to undertake any kind of site survey, route survey, swept path analysis etc. We can identify any limitations along the transport route (narrow or low points, weak bridges, tight bends etc) and we can advise on appropriate routes to each site specific.
We can update our route surveys as frequently as required, and we can undertake a “practice run” with a truck and trailer if required ahead of any new sites coming online or ahead of any critical phases of a project.

Our planning and tracking systems have been developed in-house, providing us with full capability to create web functionality which enables us to tailor the system to suit the needs of our customers. All of our vehicles are GPS tracked and linked directly to our bespoke planning system, giving customers the visibility to track real time updates on the ETA of their deliveries.
Our centralised planning function is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and connects all of our sites, depots and offices, enabling us to monitor a suite of KPIs and efficiently plan our fleet to deliver the best network performance around the clock. ETA boards allow customers to see real-time updates of their deliveries, meaning they can manage their loading and offloading schedules more productively, as they are alerted to delays immediately.
Explore boast’s one of the newest Euro 6 compliant fleets in the industry, with further plans to develop and expand our fleet with the acquisition of the latest electric and hydrogen articulated tractor units on the market. Explore strives to be the first construction logistics company to deliver emission free into London.
All our drivers are supported by our Copilot HGV Sat Nav, allowing them to plan their routes avoiding any weight or height restrictions. The Copilot HGV Sat Nav’s provide accurate route planning, meaning our team can modify a route as appropriate to deliver directly to specific gates that may not be available on traditional GPS guidance technology.
Supporting our drivers with the latest in AI safety technology, Explore’s Transport Division are onboarding new AI camera systems into our fleet to help identify and protect vulnerable road users. Extending our capabilities further with brand new Geofencing capabilities on our latest trucks, our team can geofence and set specific speeds for our customer’s sites to ensure that all site restrictions and regulations are always adhered to.
Training Scheme Explore are the first operator within the Construction Logistics Industry to develop and deliver an award-winning in-house Training program with this progressive learning structure and the first ‘uncapped’ training program in the industry – duration is measured on the attitude and capability of the individual learner.
